Asian businessman's luxury hotel hosted Windsor Framework talks between Sunak and von der Leyen

ASIAN millionaire Surinder Arora's luxury Fairmont Windsor Park Hotel served as the venue for talks between British prime minister Rishi Sunak and the European Commission president, Ursula von der Leyen, to break the Northern Ireland protocol deadlock on Monday (27).

Sunak and Von der Leyen proclaimed a "new chapter" in UK-EU relations after years of Brexit tensions as they agreed to the new pact.

It follows more than a year of tense talks over the "Northern Ireland Protocol", which has unsettled the province 25 years on from a historic peace deal that ended three decades of armed conflict.

Those talks took place on Monday at Arora's luxury hotel in Windsor, set in 100 acres and managed jointly with Accor.

Fairmont Windsor Park is conveniently situated in the countryside just an hour away from London within easy reach of Heathrow Airport and central London.

Once a private residence, the hotel underwent a complete rebuild, while meticulously preserving the exterior of the original Jacobean manor house that once stood in its place.

The project was a major undertaking for Arora, one of the most accomplished hoteliers in the UK and executive chairman of the hotels and property Arora Group.

The Arora Group is a prosperous, UK-focused private group of companies that takes advantage of synergies across its specialised property, construction, and hotel sectors to achieve its strategic objectives.

Arora’s portfolio is set out by the company: “Current hotels within the portfolio include Sofitel London Heathrow, Sofitel London Gatwick and Novotel London Stansted Renaissance London Heathrow, InterContinental London ‒ The O2, Holiday Inn Heathrow Terminal 5, Crowne Plaza London Heathrow Terminal 4, Holiday Inn Express London Heathrow Terminal, Hilton London Gatwick and Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3, and Arora Gatwick – Crawley.”

And, of course, the Fairmont Windsor Park and Luton Hoo.

Arora maintains his long-standing relationships with friends, including the renowned singer Sir Cliff Richard, who formally opened the Fairmont Windsor Park.

He also speaks highly of his dedicated staff. “I’m surrounded by great senior executives and a fantastic workforce in the group. I also enjoy spending time with the family and the grandkids and on the golf course.”

Since 1999, the Arora Group has earned its reputation by carefully managing projects from start to finish and beyond. It now possesses and oversees a varied collection of prime assets in the country's most important business centres, collaborating with some of the globe's most well-known brands to deliver consistently superior service and sustainable growth.

Located on the edge of historic Windsor Great Park, the hotel is surrounded by 40 acres of open green space and a tranquil lake. Its elegant style matches that of its royal neighbours.

An enjoyable walk lasting approximately one hour through the park leads to the 11th-century Windsor Castle.

Fairmont is also the ultimate destination for momentous occasions, particularly when it comes to matters of the heart.

Whether it's a lavish wedding, a private honeymoon, or a simple romantic getaway, Fairmont offers a unique blend of experiences. In fact, many famous celebrities, actors, musicians, and others have been wining and dining at Fairmont hotels for decades.

The Arora family has a strong portfolio of hotel assets along with commercial properties and land banks. As a matter of fact, the Asian Rich List values the family at £1.1 billion.

Aspirations ignited following Leicester schools Parliament visit

Aspirations ignited following Leicester schools Parliament visit

Dr Nik Kotecha OBE DL

Delighted to pause and look back on a pioneering partnership project, which saw our Randal Charitable Foundation, Leicestershire Police and the Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) support pupils, from 5 Leicester schools, tour London and the Houses of Parliament with the aim to help raise aspirations and demonstrate possible future career paths.

With more young people than ever struggling to stay in education, find employment and track down career opportunities, I’ve reflected on the importance of collaborations like this one, which model just one way in that small interventions could reap rewards in the life course of youngsters.
