Umesh Shukla’s Modi: Journey of a Common Man season one started streaming on Eros Now in April 2019. After more than one and a half years, the makers have now released season two of the series.

In the series, Faisal Khan plays the role of teenage Narendra Modi, Ashish Sharma is seen as an adult Narendra Modi, and Mahesh Thakur portrays the current age of the Prime Minister.

We recently interacted with Ashish Sharma and spoke to him about the series. When we asked him how excited he is for season two, the actor said, “We have been waiting for it for a really long time and now, it’s finally coming out. So, I am pretty excited, and I was very humbled and overwhelmed by the response season one got. Everyone loved it, irrespective of the politics that come along with it. Today, in India, we do not have a bigger political story than this, but it keeps a very neutral perspective, and I think that’s a big win for a subject like this. For that, I feel Umesh Shukla needs to be applauded because it’s his vision completely. So, more than us, I am happy for him that he could keep a neutral perspective and tell the story. This season it’s going to be a journey from where we left in season one, so it’s going to be CM (Chief Minister) to PM (Prime Minister).”

When asked if they had shot for season two along with season one or decided about season two after the first season got a good response, Ashish said, “No, it was shot together. It was shot at once. I think it was the platform’s choice that when and how they want to release the seasons.”
