Arjun Patiala: The trailer of Diljit Dosanjh, Kriti Sanon and Varun Sharma starrer is hilarious

Spoof comedy is a genre that Bollywood filmmakers have not tried much. Last year’s release Welcome To New York was a spoof comedy starring Sonakshi Sinha and Diljit Dosanjh, but unfortunately, the film failed to make a mark at the box office. Now this year, Diljit Dosanjh has once again starred in spoof comedy titled Arjun Patiala. The film also stars Kriti Sanon and Varun Sharma in the lead roles.

The makers of Arjun Patiala have released the trailer and it is hilarious. It has moments that will make you laugh out loud. But of course, it will be interesting to see what will be the audience’s response to this film as Bollywood moviegoers are not much familiar with spoof comedy genre. Diljit Dosanjh is quite good in the trailer and Kriti Sanon also leaves a mark. But it is Varun Sharma who steals the show with his act. He has performed very well and we love his name in the film, Onida. By the way, it’s good to see Sunny Leone in a Bollywood film again after a gap of around two years.

While talking about the film, Kriti had earlier told us, “Arjun Patiala is a different kind of comedy. It’s a spoofy comedy, which I don’t think has been done much in the industry before. It has been done a lot in the west, for example, parody movies like Deadpool and Scary Movie. Arjun Patiala is a fresh take on comedy. We are making fun of how a buddy cop film is like while making the same buddy cop movie. So I think, it is a film that is really gonna crack you up. Arjun Patiala is different in terms of the flavour of comedy. I feel this film will connect with the kids very well because the way things are being shown in it. I can’t explain why and how, but there is a lot for the kids to enjoy.”

Directed by Rohit Jugraj, Arjun Patiala is slated to release on 26th July 2019. It will be clashing with Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer Mental Hai Kya and Sonakshi Sinha’s Khandaani Shafakhana.

  • Party denies blocking candidates based on immigration status.
An Indian student leader has accused the Scottish Green Party of treating candidates with visa concerns differently after she was asked to step down while another person in the same situation was allowed to contest and win.

Sai Shraddha Viswanathan, who currently serves as president of the National Union of Students Scotland, told BBC that party officials asked her to withdraw from the North East Scotland candidate list last July.

The reason given was concerns about her student visa status and whether she could serve a full term without new papers.
