Arjun Patiala: The trailer of Diljit Dosanjh, Kriti Sanon and Varun Sharma starrer is hilarious

Spoof comedy is a genre that Bollywood filmmakers have not tried much. Last year’s release Welcome To New York was a spoof comedy starring Sonakshi Sinha and Diljit Dosanjh, but unfortunately, the film failed to make a mark at the box office. Now this year, Diljit Dosanjh has once again starred in spoof comedy titled Arjun Patiala. The film also stars Kriti Sanon and Varun Sharma in the lead roles.

The makers of Arjun Patiala have released the trailer and it is hilarious. It has moments that will make you laugh out loud. But of course, it will be interesting to see what will be the audience’s response to this film as Bollywood moviegoers are not much familiar with spoof comedy genre. Diljit Dosanjh is quite good in the trailer and Kriti Sanon also leaves a mark. But it is Varun Sharma who steals the show with his act. He has performed very well and we love his name in the film, Onida. By the way, it’s good to see Sunny Leone in a Bollywood film again after a gap of around two years.

While talking about the film, Kriti had earlier told us, “Arjun Patiala is a different kind of comedy. It’s a spoofy comedy, which I don’t think has been done much in the industry before. It has been done a lot in the west, for example, parody movies like Deadpool and Scary Movie. Arjun Patiala is a fresh take on comedy. We are making fun of how a buddy cop film is like while making the same buddy cop movie. So I think, it is a film that is really gonna crack you up. Arjun Patiala is different in terms of the flavour of comedy. I feel this film will connect with the kids very well because the way things are being shown in it. I can’t explain why and how, but there is a lot for the kids to enjoy.”

Directed by Rohit Jugraj, Arjun Patiala is slated to release on 26th July 2019. It will be clashing with Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer Mental Hai Kya and Sonakshi Sinha’s Khandaani Shafakhana.

Radiohead’s Thom Yorke condemns Netanyahu and Hamas in statement on Gaza war

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has spoken out about the war in Gaza for the first time, criticising both Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas. In a detailed Instagram post published on Friday, Yorke also addressed the emotional toll of being pressured to comment on the conflict, which he said had impacted his mental health.

Yorke, known for keeping a low profile on political issues, said he had remained silent until now out of respect for victims of the ongoing war. However, he acknowledged that his lack of public comment had led some to interpret his silence as complicity.

Ricky Gervais receives Walk of Fame star and jokes about Michael Jackson and Bill Cosby

Ricky Gervais now has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but it wouldn’t be a Ricky moment without a few jabs that made the room a bit tense. Known for pushing buttons with his jokes, the 63-year-old comedian didn’t hold back during his acceptance speech, which mixed dry humour with some edgy digs.

Looking around at the star-studded pavement, he jokingly pointed out some controversial names, including Michael Jackson, Bill Cosby, and Fatty Arbuckle, all of whom have faced serious allegations. Gervais, with a smirk, seemed to be making a comment on how celebrity and scandal often go hand in hand, especially in a place like Hollywood.

Harvard to transfer historic images of enslaved people to African American museum

Harvard University has agreed to transfer a collection of historic daguerreotypes believed to be among the earliest photographs of enslaved people in the United States to the International African American Museum in South Carolina. The move follows a protracted legal dispute with Tamara Lanier, a Connecticut author who claims to be a descendant of two of the individuals pictured.

The images, taken in 1850, depict several enslaved individuals, including a man named Renty and his daughter Delia, who were forced to pose for the photographs by Swiss-born Harvard professor and zoologist Louis Agassiz. Agassiz commissioned the daguerreotypes as part of his now-discredited research to support polygenism — the belief that different races evolved separately and unequally.
