Anushka Sharma to produce web-series based on Tarun Tejpal’s novel The Story of My Assassins

Last seen in Zero (2018), Anushka Sharma is presently busy working on her next production venture, an untitled web-series for streaming giant Amazon Prime Video. The actress and her production house Clean Slate Films are set to make their digital debut with the yet-to-be-announced project.

Though nothing much is known about the web-series at the moment, some insiders reveal that it based on well-known journalist Tarun Tejpal’s popular novel The Story of My Assassins. If reports are to be believed, the show has begun production in Delhi.

In one of his recent interview, writer Hardik Mehta, who is scripting the show for Anushka, had described it as a Delhi-based investigation drama which is tentatively-titled Assassin and is along the lines of US show True Detective.

Tarun Tejpal wrote The Story of My Assassins in 2010. He is the former editor-in-chief of India’s premier investigative magazine Tehelka. In 2013, a female colleague had accused him of rape which led to his arrest.

Tejpal is currently on bail since July 1, 2014.
