Anees Bazmee set to explore the digital world

Well-known Hindi filmmaker Anees Bazmee, who is known for delivering a series of blockbusters in his prolific career, is currently awaiting the release of his hugely anticipated comic-caper Pagalpanti. The film stars John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz and Kriti Kharbanda in lead roles, and is slated to enter theatres on 8th November. Soon after the release of Pagalpanti, the director will move on to direct T-Series Films’ horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with Kartik Aaryan.

Additionally, Anees Bazmee has also committed to call the shots for sequels to Aankhen (2002), No Entry (2005) and Mubarkan (2017). Looking at his slate of upcoming films, we can say the filmmaker has a lot on his plate at the moment. But it looks like all the aforementioned projects were not enough for him because the director is now planning to explore the digital space.

“It is a very exciting space. There is some interesting stuff being made there. I have offers, but will start working once I get free and find the right subject,” he had mentioned before kick-starting Pagalpanti a few months ago.

And now, the filmmaker seems to have finally found the right subject to make his digital debut with. As per a trade source, Anees Bazmee may helm a crime-based web show. “It has some fantasy elements as well, and Anees bhai, who has earlier made some thought-provoking films like Deewangee (2002), is working with a bunch of young writers to develop the concept,” says the trade source.

More details are awaited.
