Ananya Pandey might bag Student Of The Year 2

After months of speculations around the upcoming Dharma Productions' venture, Student Of The Year 2, Karan Johar finally revealed the first poster of the movie on Monday. Featuring Tiger Shroff in the lead role, the film is a sequel to Johar' 2012 directorial Student Of The Year, which launched the careers of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra in Bollywood.

While Tiger Shroff was finalized for the movie months ago, speculations around its leading lady have not died down yet. Initially, it was being reported that Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor will make their acting debut with the film. Then it was Disha Patani whose name was being tossed around as the leading lady of the film. But makers always remained tightlipped on the subject and did not even drop a hint.

Now, the latest name that is being associated with the film is Bollywood star Chunky Pandey's daughter, Ananya Pandey. According to some media reports, there are chances that Ananya might grab her debut role opposite Tiger in SOTY 2.

“The makers had shortlisted a lot of candidates for Student Of The Year 2 but looks like they have nearly signed Ananya Pandey for the part. She fits the part perfectly and the team is really excited about this talented, new actress. Advanced talks are underway and an announcement is being awaited,” revealed a source.

Reportedly, SOTY 2 is a two-heroine project. So, even if the makers sign Ananya Pandey as the female lead, they will have to continue their search for the second leading lady of the film.

Student Of The Year 2 will be directed by Punit Malhotra while Karan Johar will just bankroll the project.
