Earlier this year, it was announced that Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan, and Dhanush will be seen in Aanand L Rai’s Atrangi Re. The shooting of the film was stalled due to the lockdown and resumed in October this year.

While Sara and Dhanush have been shooting for the film, Akshay Kumar has now joined the team. The actor took to Instagram to inform his fans that he has started shooting for Atrangi Re.

Akshay posted a picture with Sara and captioned it as, “The joy brought by those three magic words is unmatched : Lights, Camera, Action ? Begun shooting for #AtrangiRe by @aanandlrai. Need all your love and best wishes ?? An @arrahman musical. Written by: #HimanshuSharma @saraalikhan95 @dhanushkraja @tseries.official @cypplofficial #CapeOfGoodFilms @harjeetsphotography.”

Reportedly, Atrangi Re is set in two eras and in one era Sara is paired opposite Dhanush and in another era she will be seen opposite Akshay.

The Aanand L Rai directorial was scheduled to release on Valentine’s Day next year. However, due to the delay in the shoot because of the pandemic, the film might get postponed. The makers have not yet announced the new release date of the film.

Meanwhile, during this pandemic, Akshay has already wrapped up Bell Bottom and has also shot for Prithviraj. And Sara is now gearing up for the release of Coolie No. 1 which will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video on 25th December 2020.

The government intends to introduce facial age-estimation technology in 2026 to verify the ages of migrants claiming to be under 18, particularly those arriving on small boats from France. Officials say the move will help prevent adults from posing as children to exploit the asylum system.
