Akshay bows out of late music baron Gulshan Kumar's biopic

Superstar Akshay Kumar, who is awaiting the release of his forthcoming film, Padman, has reportedly opted out of one of his upcoming projects, Mogul, a biopic based on the life of distinguished music baron, Gulshan Kumar, who laid the foundation of India's leading music company, T-Series.

It was only in March this year that the megastar had greenlit the project. He had posted on his Twitter handle, “My association with Him began with my very first film. He was The Emperor of Music. Now know His story… #Mogul, The Gulshan Kumar story!”


However, according to latest media reports, Khiladi Kumar has walked out of the film. To be written and directed by Subhash Kapoor, the film was being bankrolled by Gulshan Kumar's son, Bhushan Kumar, under T-Series banner.

Though no one exactly knows what transpired that led Akshay to leave the project, some insiders reveal that the superstar was not very convinced with the story and screenplay of the film. He even shared his reservations with director Subhash Kapoor, but he chose not to pay much heed to the actor's concerns.

"Akshay has some concerns over the script that director Subhash Kapoor has greenlit. He requested a few things be rewritten. But, Subhash was adamant. Hence, Akshay thought it was best if he opted out," a source reveals to an Indian daily.

With Akshay out of the film, it remains to be seen whether makers go ahead with a new actor or they shelve the whole project altogether.

‘Dhurandhar’ re-releases with muted dialogue, minor edits

ESPIONAGE drama “Dhurandhar”, starring Ranveer Singh, has been re-released with a dialogue and certain words muted, officials said. The film has earned over Rs 700 crore in India (around £57.7 million).

Officials said Aditya Dhar Films made the changes on its own, and there was no directive from the Information and Broadcasting ministry.
