Ajay Devgn to play the role of a freedom fighter in RRR?

SS Rajamouli’s RRR starring Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, and Shriya Sharan is one of the most awaited films of 2021. Devgn has an extended cameo in the film, and according to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the actor plays the role of a freedom fighter in the movie.

A source told the tabloid, “Ajay has shot for around 10 days at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, where Delhi from the 1900s was recreated. He appears in the flashback scenes.”

Devgn and Rajamouli had earlier collaborated for 2012 release Makkhi in which the former had given a narration. The source said, “Rajamouli paid a tribute to him in Makkhi and the two have been good friends since. Ajay gave the nod within minutes of the narration. Though it is an extended cameo, his track will remind one of his National Award-winning performance in The Legend of Bhagat Singh and sets the tone for the drama involving the two leads.”

Well, Alia also has a small part to play in RRR, but she has been excited to be a part of the film. RRR will be one of her first films that will start rolling. While talking about Alia, the source said, “Alia has been prepping all this while, even learning Telugu with a local tutor to understand the nuances of her character better.”

RRR was slated to release in July this year, but the makers had postponed the release date to 8th January 2020. But as due to pandemic the shooting schedules have been delayed, the movie might get postponed again. The source stated, “The team is figuring a release towards April end, like Bahubali 2: The Conclusion which was unveiled on April 28, 2017. Of course, this would depend on when the shoot resumes and how long post-production takes.”

  • The company is seeking ways to secure the future of its Sunderland plant.
  • Qashqai accounts for around 45 per cent of Nissan's European sales.

Nissan has reportedly stopped developing a fully electric version of its best-selling Qashqai SUV, a move that could raise fresh questions about the future direction of the company's Sunderland factory and its electric vehicle ambitions in Europe.

According to a Reuters report, the Japanese carmaker quietly halted development of the electric Nissan Qashqai last year as part of a broader cost-cutting drive aimed at reducing its model range and improving profitability. The decision affects a project that was previously presented as a key part of the UK's ambitions to become a major electric vehicle manufacturing hub.
