Ajay Devgn to start shooting for Raid from September!

Superstar Ajay Devgn has a number of big projects in his hand right now. In one of his next films, titled Raid, the National Award winning actor will play a no-nonsense Income Tax officer. The film is set against the backdrop of 1980s UP and is inspired by real life events. Rajkumar Gupta will helm the movie.

When we recently asked Ajay when he is planning to start the shoot, he told Eastern Eye, "We will start shooting for Raid from September. The story of the film is incredible and I am eager to start shooting for it soon."


Ajay said that all of his upcoming films have very strong subjects and he is quite happy about the same. "Luckily, the next two-three films that I am doing are all excellent subjects."

Talking about his biopic based on the life of Raniganj mine hero Jaswant Singh Gill, the braveheart who saved the lives of almost 64 people stuck inside a coal mine, Ajay said, "JS Gill was somebody who got the President’s award but wasn’t given the due recognition due to the politics. One man, who in the 90’s saved around 64 people who were 150 meters below the ground, It is a very thrilling film. It is in the mines. It is going to be tough. We are shooting in real mines as well as on the sets.”

Ajay Devgn is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Baadshaho. Also starring Emraan Hashmi, Vidyut Jammwal, Sanjay Mishra, Ileana D’Cruz and Esha Gupta, the film is slated to release on 1st September 2017.

Chetan Bhagat says fame in Bollywood can take a serious toll on mental health. The bestselling author, whose novels like 3 Idiots and Kai Po Che! became major films, explained that many actors and directors struggle when their work doesn’t succeed. “There are actors who, when going to a restaurant, if they aren’t recognised, don’t enjoy the meal. They wonder, ‘No one came to click photos?’ Can you imagine what a sick life that is?” he said.

Bhagat added that the pressure of attention and constant public scrutiny can worsen insecurity. He recalled seeing stars fade over time, their mental health affected by the highs and lows of fame.
