Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji announced that his next directorial venture Brahmastra, which has been a dream project for him for many years now, will miss its December 20 release date and will now release in summer 2020.
On Saturday, the director of such blockbuster movies as Wake Up Sid (2009) and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), took to his Instagram account to share the latest development regarding his next film.
The filmmaker revealed that his team needs more time to work on VFX, visual effects and the sound and music, so that when the final product is ready for viewing, it creates the best possible movie experience.
Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy in principal roles, Brahmastra was earlier set to clash with megastar Salman Khan’s hotly anticipated film, Dabangg 3.
Recently, rumours started doing the rounds that the release of Brahmastra might be postponed to avoid a box-office battle with Dabangg 3. However, Ayan Mukerji’s statement on the subject has cleared all our rumours.
The exact release date of Brahmastra, which is being made under the banner of Dharma Productions, will be announced soon.
