It has been months since the name of Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan has been doing the rounds as one of the female leads on the star cast of producer Dinesh Vijan’s much-talked-about project, Angrezi Medium.
Finally, after much speculation about her involvement in the project, Dinesh has confirmed that the actress is indeed a part of the movie. Not just that, he also talked about her character in the film at length.
Talking to an English daily, the filmmaker said, “Kareena is a great addition to our franchise! Angrezi Medium is a very special film, and I’m excited that she is going to be a part of it. We wanted to introduce this character who would be taken forward in the franchisees to come, and she is perfect for it.”
Spilling the beans on the character that Bebo will be playing in the film, he added, “Here she plays a cop, a role she has actually never done before! We will be shooting in London this June, and it will be great to be back on set with her.”
For the uninitiated, Angrezi Medium is a sequel to the Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar starrer Hindi Medium (2017). Irrfan Khan reprises his role in the sequel also, while Radhika Madan and Kareena Kapoor Khan are new entrants to the franchise. The film is being helmed by Homi Adajania.
Kareena Kapoor Khan has just wrapped up her next film, Good News. Co-starring Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani, the Dharma Productions venture enters theatres on 6th September. The actress will also be seen in Karan Johar’s next directorial venture, Takht, a period drama also having Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Bhumi Pednekar onboard.
