5 reasons to become a vegetarian

1. Live Longer

If you want to slow your aging process and live longer with charming beauty, then it's time to stop consuming non-vegetarian food and become a pure vegetarian. According to an Oxford study published in the British Medical Journal discovered that vegetarians live longer than non-vegetarians as plant based diets contain good quantity of fiber, antioxidants, minerals, and others vital nutrients which support our immune system and keep us healthy. Vegan diet can help you prevent chronic diseases such as, coronary artery disease, cardiac failure, diabetes insipidus, etc and hence enjoy a healthy, longer life.

 2. Helps to Avoid Food Contamination

Nowadays meat is highly contaminated with toxic materials such as hormones, pesticides, antibiotics, etc which can cause significant damage to your health. Hence, if you start a vegan diet, you can prevent your body from becoming a host of chemicals.

 3. Vegetarianism can Help Reduce Global Warming

Higher livestock means higher emission of greenhouse gases which ultimately cause global warming. According to a report released by the United Nation states, livestock generate more green house gases than cars and trucks in the globe combined. Most of the green house gases comes from carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide generated by manure.

 4. Support to End World Hunger

Starvation and malnutrition are some of the greatest issues that affect a large number of population around the world, especially, women and children. Every year, starvation claims the lives of over 2.5 million children under the age of five. It is proved that there is enough supply of food to feed every single human being on the planet. On an average, 40% of the global grain production is used to feed live stock. In developed countries, nearly 70% of the food grain produced is being used to feed live stock. If all food crops grown in the globe is directly used to fed the human instead of animals, then around 70% or more food would be added to the world’s total supply which would suffice to feed an additional 4 billion people around the globe.

 5. Compassion for Animals

Plight of the animals is one of the main reasons why many people choose to become vegetarians. We, human beings, must understand that just like us even animals have the right to live in this world and deserve to have their best interests taken into consideration, whether or not they are useful to humans. Animals don't belong to us to use for food, clothing, experimentation, or any such reason. By converting to a plant-base diet, we will be able to ease the unnecessary suffering and deaths of countless animals.
