5 best foods that can help boost female libido

Do you frequently lack sexual desire? Do you consistently prefer sleep over sex? If you haven't had the desire for sexual activity in recent weeks, it may indicate a decrease in your sex drive, and your libido may require a boost.

However, you may not be the only one feeling this way. In an earlier report, Health Shots reveals that a 2008 study found 1 in every 4, women report decreased sexual desire and arousal.

Emotions and physical and mental health are some factors that influence sexual desire. But did you know eating certain foods can improve your sex drive?

Here are 5 superfoods that enhance libido for women and anyone else.

Broccoli

Add broccoli to your salad or side dish, whether raw, sautéed, or cooked, to enhance your libido. Keri Glassman, a registered dietitian, and founder of Nutritious Life, told the site Shape that the high vitamin C content makes broccoli a top libido-boosting food for women and anyone else.

"Vitamin C aids in blood circulation to organs and has also been associated with an improved female libido," she said.

Cloves

This sex superfood can be served in a variety of ways: It can be infused into grilled meat, added to rice dishes like pilaf, or brewed into tea. Just be sure to sip on it with your partner.

"In India, cloves have been used to treat male sexual dysfunction for centuries," Glassman said.

Additionally, research published in BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine found that clove extract increased the sexual activity of normal male rats.

Cloves are not only reportedly flavourful but also have a lot of medicinal value. They can help mask bad breath and make your mouth kissable.

What’s more, if you want to give your meals an added aphrodisiac boost, simply sprinkle a bit of clove powder over them.

Figs

Want to add some charm to your appearance the next time you see your beloved one? Figs can be the answer – it is a simple yet effective food solution. "They're considered excellent stimulants of fertility and enhance the secretion of pheromones," said Gahns-Clement and Clement, author of several books on the application of natural health methods.

Further, figs boast a high concentration of amino acids that may enhance libido. In addition, they can also supposedly help to bolster male sexual endurance.

Eggs

There are countless ways to prepare eggs - whether poached, scrambled, fried, or deviled. A couple of them can be a great way to refuel and revitalize after a day filled with activities so you can keep on going at night.

Eggs are also an amazing source of Vitamin B5 and B6, which promote hormone balance and reduce stress levels. This can reportedly prove very beneficial in enhancing your libido and overall well-being.

This food is an excellent source of protein too, making it a great choice for anyone wanting to maintain physical strength. Additionally, eggs contain L-arginine, an amino acid that has been proven to be beneficial in treating several heart conditions and erectile dysfunction. They are also low in calories which makes them ideal for those on a calorie-restricted diet.

Saffron

If you want to treat yourself and your partner to some libido-boosting and romantic meals, then look no further.

Despite being quite expensive, saffron can-do wonders for your digestion and intimate life.

According to scientists at the University of Guelph, saffron actually helps enhance sexual performance, a report in The Times of India informs.
