Dimple Kapadia – Zakhmi Aurat


When in the 80s there were hardly strong characters written for women in mainstream cinema, Dimple Kapadia starred in a movie titled Zakhmi Aurat. She played the role of a cop and nailed it. The movie was about how women took revenge from rapists by castrating them.

Madhuri Dixit – Khalnayak

Madhuri Dixit’s song Choli Ke Piche Kya Hai is one of the best elements of Khalnayak. But, well apart from just dancing and romancing Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri also wore a khakee in the film and played the cop part very well.

Rani Mukerji – Mardaani

Rani Mukerji played the role of a cop in Mardaani. Her character of Shivani Shivaji Roy was applauded by one and all. Now she is all set to reprise her role in the sequel of the film.

Priyanka Chopra – Jai Gangaajal

Priyanka Chopra’s last Bollywood film was Jai Gangaajal, a movie mostly everyone has forgotten. Though it wasn’t a great film, Priyanka’s cop act was appreciated.

We are yet to see Kareena in a cop avatar on the silver screen, but our wait will be over soon. Bebo plays the role of a cop in Homi Adajania’s Angrezi Medium which also stars Irrfan Khan and Radhika Madan.
