Varun Dhawan wishes father David Dhawan Happy Birthday in his Coolie No.1 avatar

Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan will be seen together on the big screen for the first time in David Dhawan’s Coolie No. 1. The shooting of the film kickstarted a few days ago, and the makers had also unveiled a couple of posters of the movie.

Today, David Dhawan celebrates his 64th birthday and Varun took to Twitter to wish his father in his Coolie No. 1 avatar. The actor posted a couple of pictures from the sets and wrote, “Happy birthday ? papa ? मेरा नम्बर 1 डिरेक्टर । काम चालू हैं  bhai लोग. Coolie number 1.”

Interestingly, Sara Ali Khan’s father, actor Saif Ali Khan’s birthday is also today. The actress posted on Instagram, “Happiest birthday Abba ? ? ? I love you so much ❤️??‍?‍???.”

Coolie No. 1 is a remake of 1995 release film with the same name which starred Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in the lead roles. The film was a super hit and it is still remembered for its chartbuster songs.

The movie will mark David Dhawan’s third collaboration with his son Varun Dhawan. The two have earlier worked together in films like Main Tera Hero and Judwaa 2. The latter was a remake of David Dhawan’s Judwaa which starred Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Rambha in the lead roles. Judwaa 2 was a blockbuster at the box office, but the film had mostly received negative reviews. Let’s hope that the Coolie No. 1 remake is a well-made film.

Coolie No. 1 is slated to release on 1st May 2020.
