Vaani Kapoor psyched up about playing a dancer in Shamshera

Vaani Kapoor, who was last seen in War (2019) alongside Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, is excited about her next project Shamshera. Helmed by Karan Malhotra, the movie also has Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt on its lead cast.

The Yash Raj Films’ venture stars Vaani in the role of a drop-dead gorgeous dancer. The actress, whose prowess in dance in known to one and all, is quite excited about the upcoming film and her character in it.

“I have always believed for an actor it is very important and integral to try and learn as many art forms as they can in order to make their performance an overall success. I consider myself very lucky that the people and the industry have given me so much appreciation for my dance pieces,” says Vaani Kapoor.

The actress goes on to reveal that she had never had any formal training in dancing before stepping into the Hindi film industry. “Honestly, it was not easy. I have never received formal training as a dancer until I entered Bollywood. I was always very inspired by actors such as Madhuri, Sridevi and so many more! They are performers. I have always aspired to be an actor who not only acts but is an overall performer. It's taken a lot of hard work behind each piece that I put out in front of our audience.”

Talking about her character in Shamshera, Vaani says, “In Shamshera too, I am really excited to play the role of a performer who dances her way into the hearts of people and I have some amazing songs to perform on. I am hoping that all the songs of Shamshera become a huge success too. It is a product of our love, sweat, and hard work.”

Shamshera, produced by Aditya Chopra, is slated to buzz into theatres on 31st July 2020.
