Super fan of the week - Asim Riaz

MODEL turned TV star Asim Riaz has got himself an incredible fan following globally after his stunning appearance on Bigg Boss 13. One of his most devoted admirers is Meenu from New Delhi.

Eastern Eye caught up with the super fan to find out more.

What connected you to Asim?

I started liking Asim because of the small acts of kindness done by him for others in Bigg Boss 13. Also, he stopped others from violent acts and showed sensibility in tough situations.

What made you a super fan?

During his Bigg Boss 13 stint, Asim was not a big name but was targeted and harassed continuously. His zeal to rise up, not lose hope, be motivated and smile through the difficulties made me resolve to support him more.

Tell us about something super you have done for Asim?

I stayed away from social media, but joined Twitter to support Asim and am sticking around for him. Asim may be coming to Delhi in April. I might even participate in the event he will be attending, which will be hilarious as I have never tried modelling.

What has been your most memorable moment?

There are many magical moments on Bigg Boss 13, including his amazing performance during a task where he had to endure spices being thrown at him from all sides. Another one was when he sacrificed his captaincy for another contestant (Arti Singh) so she could have a letter sent from her mother. These were emotional moments.

What do you love about Asim?

Asim is admired for his strength and grit, but what I love about him is his kindness and forgiving attitude. He doesn’t keep grudges and believes in forgiveness.

Which quality in Asim do you most relate to?

I most relate to Asim’s can-do attitude. He is optimistic and believes in getting up after falling. This is what everyone has to do. I want to be able to do that too.

Why do you love being a super fan?

Asim has just started on the road to stardom. Being his super fan, I was able to live this journey with him during Bigg Boss and will continue living this journey until he becomes a superstar and even after that. It is the best feeling in the world to see someone you love so much and support reach great heights. These super feelings can only be experienced by super fans.

Producer Namit Malhotra reveals how AI will make Ramayana resonate globally with native-language realism

Ranbir's 'Ramayana' will go global using AI, says producer Namit Malhotra

Producer Namit Malhotra is betting big on Ramayana, not just as a film for Indian audiences, but as a story that can speak to viewers across the world. At the WAVES Summit in Mumbai, Malhotra shared how the upcoming mythological drama, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, is being developed with a global ambition, bringing together high-end tech with cultural roots.

He explained that the team isn’t just dubbing the film into other languages. Instead, they’re using real-time AI to match lip movements to multiple languages, so when audiences watch it in English, Spanish, or Japanese, it looks like the actors are actually speaking those tongues. The idea is to avoid the usual detachment of subtitles or awkward dubbing, and instead make the film feel native to each region.

Instagram Restricts Top Pakistani Artists in India Over Tensions

Instagram blocks profiles of Fawad Khan, Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in India amid rising tensions

The Instagram profiles of Pakistani celebrities like Fawad Khan, Atif Aslam, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan are no longer accessible in India. This development comes just weeks before Fawad’s planned Bollywood return with Abir Gulaal and follows a series of social media restrictions tied to the worsening India–Pakistan relationship.

When Indian fans try to view the artists' Instagram pages, they’re met with a message: "Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content." No official clarification has come from either the Indian government or Meta, but the timing is significant. The move comes days after a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam region killed 26 people, most of them tourists. It was one of the deadliest attacks since the 2008 Mumbai carnage.
