Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety books a new release date!

After the stupendous success of their films Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 at the Indian box office, actor Kartik Aaryan and filmmaker Luv Ranjan have collaborated again for the breezy rom-com, titled Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.

Besides Kartik Aaryan in the lead role, the much-awaited film also features Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh, the same actors who impressed us with their great comic timing in Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2.

When the film was announced last year, the makers had locked 3rd November 2017 as its release date. But now, there has been a shift in its release date. The movie will now arrive in cinemas on 12 January 2018.

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety marks the fourth collaboration among Nushrat Bharucha, Karthik Aaryan and filmmaker Luv Ranjan. Nushrat Bharucha and Karthik Aaryan have been paired opposite each other in Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Akash Vaani, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 and now Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. All these four films are helmed by Luv Ranjan.

Produced by Luv Films and T-Series, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety will be a love triangle based in Delhi and UP.

Yash says Ravana in Ramayana must connect with Western viewers as film eyes global audience

Highlights

  • Yash says he humanised Ravana to help global audiences relate to the character.
  • Asura designs in the first glimpse drew criticism for looking too Western-inspired.
  • Producer Namit Malhotra compares the film's tone to Lord of the Rings and Gladiator.
Yash, who plays the demon king Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, says his portrayal was shaped by one clear goal: making the character relatable beyond Indian audiences.
Speaking at CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week, where the film was presented alongside major Hollywood releases, the actor said he worked to strip away the purely mythological reading of the role.

"I have tried to internalise the whole essence of Ravana and tried to make him as human as possible at times," Yash told Reuters.

"It is important for people to relate to him, and since we have global ambitions, we need to make it familiar to a Western audience as well."
