Sanjay Dutt to be finally back as Munna Bhai on the big screen?

After the success of Munna Bhai M.B.B.S and Lage Raho Munna Bhai, fans of the franchise have been eagerly waiting for the third instalment of the film. Even a teaser of the third instalment titled Munna Bhai Chale America was released. But the film never took off and then later it was shelved.

After his return from the prison, Dutt starred in movies like Bhoomi, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3, Kalank and Prassthanam. All four films failed to make a mark at the box office. Currently, the actor has movies like Torbaaz, Panipat, Sadak 2, KGF Chapter 2, and Bhuj: Pride of India in his kitty.

But according to report in a daily, Dutt is now keen to star in the third instalment of Munna Bhai 3 to revive his career as his last four films didn’t do well at the box office. A source told the daily, “All of Dutt’s films since his return from prison have failed. As the biopic on his life has been a big success, it proves that Baba is very popular among the masses. He needs to do something he is best at, and that’s Munna Bhai.”

Well, we are sure fans of Sanjay Dutt would be quite keen to watch him on the big screen as Munna Bhai.

A couple of months ago, when Sanjay Dutt was asked about Munna Bhai 3, he had stated, "I pray to god it happens soon but this should be asked from Mr. Raju Hirani (Raj Kumar Hirani) director of Munna Bhai series. I think he would be in a better position to answer this question. I am eagerly waiting to start shooting.”

Earlier, this year, Arshad Warsi, who plays the role of Circuit in the film, had confirmed that the script is almost ready and they will start shooting for the film this year. He had stated, "I do know that the script is pretty much ready. I do know from Rajkumar Hirani that the film will go on floors this year - either mid or the end of the year. The work on the script is going on. As of now, yes it's Sanjay Dutt and me. These are the things I've been told."

However, it’s October going on and the shooting of the film is not yet started.
