Rohit Suchanti to lead the cast of Pehredaar Piya Ki season 2!

Recently, TV town was buzzing with the news of Khatron Ke Khiladi finalist Shantanu Maheshwari being signed to play the male lead in the second season of Sony Entertainment Television's controversial show, Pehredaar Piya Ka, which was pulled down within weeks of going on air on the heels of nationwide protest against its storyline which featured an 11-years-old boy romancing a much older girl.

However, if the latest reports are to be believed, it is not Shantanu Maheshwari but Saath Nibhaana Saathiya fame Rohit Suchanti who will play the male lead in the show. The actor will start shooting for the new show most probably in the month of October.

Talking about the storyline of the new season, Pehredaar Piya Ki 2 will not continue from where it ended in the first season. To avoid further controversies, the makers have decided to introduce a 12-years leap in the show. Ratan Maan Singh, who was shown as an 11-years-old boy in the first season, will play a grown-up foreign return in season 2. Tejasswi Prakash will play his love interest in this season also.

If all goes well, the show will hit the tube in the month of November.
