Rishi Kapoor’s Rajma Chawal delayed once again

Rishi Kapoor’s much-delayed film Rajma Chawal has been delayed once again. After facing a lot of issues in production, the movie was about to enter theatres on 31st August. However, it has come to notice that it is still in post-production.

“We are not ready for release. We are into the post-production of our film. We are just between the sound mix and the colour correction. Hopefully, we will release soon,” said director Leena Yadav.

A source shares that there are not many takers for films with older actors in lead roles and hence such type of films face a lot of problem in their theatrical rerelease.

“Films with older protagonists playing the lead do not have a market. Rishi Kapoor is a fine actor. But Kapoor & Sons didn’t become a success because of him. There were young favourites like Alia Bhatt, Siddharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan in Kapoor & Sons (2016), whereas the recent Mulk (2018) which had no major star and Rishi Kapoor in the lead, didn’t do as well as expected in spite of excellent reviews. Barring Amitabh Bachchan no 60-plus actor sells at the box-office Look at Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam 2 and Anil Kapoor’s Fanney Khan. Both disasters,” said the source.

The makers of Rajma Chawal are yet to finalize the new release date for the film.

Prashasti Singh started her stand-up terrified of speaking in public. “I was very conscious of my language, my pronunciation, my accent. I thought stand-up wouldn’t be my thing,” she says. But her first open mic changed that. “It felt like I was among a bunch of sisters, a bunch of friends. I just forgot all my nervousness. It came out very naturally.”
