Response to Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan trailer overwhelms Ayushmann Khurrana

Ayushmann Khurrana has established himself as one of the most versatile actors Bollywood has produced in the past decade. While some the biggest superstars of the industry still stick to only tried and tested genres or a few character themes, the choices that Khurrana has made over the years are out of the ordinary, and the characters that he essays on celluloid are uniquely relatable.

All the movies that Ayushmann Khurrana has done have one thing in common: they all have completely been in the commercial space and have a powerful message attached to them. The National Film Award-winning actor is back with yet another interesting and message-driven film, titled Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. The film features him in the role of a homosexual man fighting against all the odds to be with his boyfriend.


The trailer of Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan hit the internet on 21st January and blew away the audience. It has amassed millions of digital views ever since. The audience has accepted the trailer with open arms and is now waiting for the release of the film.

Ayushmann further said, “The film is a total family entertainer and we wanted people to laugh and enjoy and ponder at the same time and the reactions to the trailer suggest that we have managed to do just that. The film is hilarious and delivers a positive social message in the most entertaining manner and I definitely think the youth, parents and the entire family will enjoy quality content cinema.”

Directed by Hitesh Kewalya and produced by Colour Yellow Productions, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is set to release on February 21.

From desert spectacle to domestic dread

For decades, The Mummy has been tied to adventure, romance and spectacle, most famously in The Mummy (1999). That version thrived on sweeping desert landscapes, archaeological intrigue and a sense of escapism.

Lee Cronin takes a sharply different route. His reworking strips away the sense of adventure and relocates the horror into the home. The story still begins in Egypt, anchored by an ancient sarcophagus, but quickly shifts to the United States, where the real tension unfolds inside a family house.
