Ranbir Kapoor on Rishi Kapoor’s health: It has been a hard one year for him

Rishi Kapoor is currently in the US for his treatment. He flew down there last year and it was just a few days ago when the actor revealed that he is cancer free and in a couple of months he will be perfectly alright. Recently, at an event, Ranbir Kapoor spoke about his father’s health and stated that hopefully, the veteran actor will be back home in a month or two.

Ranbir said, "He is doing much better and hopefully he should be back in a month or two. His spirits are up. He gets lots of positivity from you all. It has been a hard one year for him. His desire and only endeavor in life is to act in movies. So this one-year sabbatical has been a little setback for him. But he is doing really well for himself.”

Rishi Kapoor was last seen on the big screen in Mulk and his performance in the film was appreciated a lot. Though currently, he is in the US for his treatment, the actor already has a movie in his kitty in which he will be collaborating with his Bol Radha Bol co-star Juhi Chawla.

TroyBoi returns to his Indian roots with Rootz EP using Lata Mangeshkar’s voice to redefine British diaspora music

Highlights:

  • TroyBoi’s five-track EP Rootz is a personal return to the sounds of his childhood, released via Ultra Records in September 2025.
  • The single Kabhi uses an officially cleared sample of Lata Mangeshkar’s vocal from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
  • Collaborations with Amrit Maan, Jazzy B and BombayMami plug Punjabi, Bhangra and south-Asian textures directly into modern trap and bass production.
  • This EP is part of a wider wave: British artists born into diasporas are using heritage not as garnish but as foundation.

Some albums hit you in ways you don’t see coming. Rootz is one of them. Not just another trap EP. TroyBoi, the London-born producer known for global bass and trap, has made something that’s also deeply personal. He didn’t just want to make music that bangs in clubs; instead, he wanted to reach back to the India of his childhood. And he did it with Rootz.

The track everyone’s talking about is Kabhi. Because it’s not just sampling Bollywood. Lata Mangeshkar’s voice was officially cleared for use on a non-Bollywood release, a milestone reported by multiple outlets. It’s history. It’s memory. And it’s a bridge.
