Rajkummar Rao and Nushrratt Bharuccha recreate an iconic scene of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

Murtuza Iqbal

We can’t forget the scene from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in which Simran (Kajol) comes running towards Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) and hugs him in a mustard farm. Well, actors Rajkummar Rao and Nushrratt Bharuccha recreated that scene when they were shooting for Chhalaang.

Nushrratt took to Instagram to share the video of the same. She captioned it as, “Bade bade deshon mein aise pyaare pyaare videos bante rehte hai @rajkummar_rao.”

Rao has always stated that he is a big fan of Shah Rukh Khan and he is also quite good at mimicking the King Khan of Bollywood. Well, this recreated scene is quite funny, but of course, we love the original one featuring our very own Raj and Simran.

Rajkummar and Nushrratt are currently busy garnering praises for their performance in Chhalaang. Both the actors had worked together in the 2010 release Love Sex Aur Dhokha and now, after 10 years, we get to see them on screen together.

While talking about her experience of working with Rajkummar, Nushrratt had told us, “We had very different paths, but we have grown in our own spaces as actors and as people. But to see him now after watching all his performances and to watch him do that same craft in front of you was an absolute delight. I was trying to observe him as much as I could. Actors have certain things that they keep it to themselves which they use in their performances, I was trying to get into that and find out what he does, how he does, and how he achieves that. One thing about Raj is that he improvises a lot like he knows this is the framework and this is the scene, but he will just start doing something completely different and I was like ‘oh okay we are still in the scene, I think we had snapped out of it’.”

Directed by Hansal Mehta, Chhalaang is streaming on Amazon Prime Video and it has received good reviews.

Britain moves to ban porn showing sexual strangulation

AI Generated Gemini

What Britain’s ban on strangulation porn really means and why campaigners say it could backfire

Highlights:

  • Government to criminalise porn that shows strangulation or suffocation during sex.
  • Part of wider plan to fight violence against women and online harm.
  • Tech firms will be forced to block such content or face heavy Ofcom fines.
  • Experts say the ban responds to medical evidence and years of campaigning.

You see it everywhere now. In mainstream pornography, a man’s hands around a woman’s neck. It has become so common that for many, especially the young, it just seems like part of sex, a normal step. The UK government has decided it should not be, and soon, it will be a crime.

The plan is to make possessing or distributing pornographic material that shows sexual strangulation, often called ‘choking’, illegal. This is a specific amendment to the Crime and Policing Bill. Ministers are acting on the back of a stark, independent review. That report found this kind of violence is not just available online, but it is rampant. It has quietly, steadily, become normalised.
