Priyanka Chopra onboard to play the female lead in Shonali Bose’s next

Actress Priyanka Chopra, who has been hogging all the limelight of late because of her alleged relationship with singer Nick Jonas, has agreed to play the female lead in filmmaker Shonali Bose’s upcoming movie, titled The Sky Is Pink.

According to reports, the movie is based on the life of Aisha Chaudhary, who became a motivational speaker and an author of the book called My Little Epiphanies after being diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 13.

Rumours about Priyanka Chopra being in the cast started right after she returned India after completing the third season of her popular American television series Quantico and signed Salman Khan’s Bharat on the dotted line. But there was no official confirmation on the news.

But on Saturday night, Priyanka made the announcement about The Sky Is Pink through her Instagram story by sharing the photograph of the movie’s draft. She captioned it: "And it begins... Prep. Hindi movie."

Later, the makers, too, announced her name on their Instagram account. “We can't keep calm for this one! Good to have you back @priyankachopra! Stay tuned everyone, as we are bringing you something really exciting,” read the post on the official Instagram account of Roy Kapur Films, a production company run by Siddharth Roy Kapur.

According to reports, Farhan Akhtar has been cast to play the male lead, while Zaira Wasim of Dangal fame plays Aisha Chaudhary, the central character in the movie.
