Priyanka Chopra gets notice for illegal construction

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has been sent a legal notice for illegal construction in the premises of her office in Andheri, Mumbai, and a commercial property she has rented out.

Quoting Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials, The Times of India reported that five people have lodged complaints alleging that the Charisma Beauty Spa and Salon had an illegal mezzanine floor.

The BMC has reportedly sent two notices to the owner and occupant of both the premises, but they are yet to get any favourable reaction. Chopra has the option to regularize the irregularities after paying penalty.

A senior BMC official told TOI, “We earlier wrote them asking to regularize the unauthorized changed after paying the penalty and removed other illegal changes which cannot be approved. But they didn’t bother to pay any attention after which we sent them notice under the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act (MRTP). If they fail to reply on this, we will demolish the illegal construction at both the premises.”

Chopra was recently in Mumbai along with her rumoured boyfriend Nick Jonas to attend the engagement bash of Akash Ambani.

After Mumbai, the duo traveled to Brazil where Nick was scheduled to perform. Chopra was seen having a blast at the concert and she also put up an Instagram story where she wrote “Him” along with a love-struck emoji.

Neither Chopra nor Jonas has confirmed their relationship. However, they have been dropping numerous hints on their respective social media platforms.

TroyBoi returns to his Indian roots with Rootz EP using Lata Mangeshkar’s voice to redefine British diaspora music

Highlights:

  • TroyBoi’s five-track EP Rootz is a personal return to the sounds of his childhood, released via Ultra Records in September 2025.
  • The single Kabhi uses an officially cleared sample of Lata Mangeshkar’s vocal from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
  • Collaborations with Amrit Maan, Jazzy B and BombayMami plug Punjabi, Bhangra and south-Asian textures directly into modern trap and bass production.
  • This EP is part of a wider wave: British artists born into diasporas are using heritage not as garnish but as foundation.

Some albums hit you in ways you don’t see coming. Rootz is one of them. Not just another trap EP. TroyBoi, the London-born producer known for global bass and trap, has made something that’s also deeply personal. He didn’t just want to make music that bangs in clubs; instead, he wanted to reach back to the India of his childhood. And he did it with Rootz.

The track everyone’s talking about is Kabhi. Because it’s not just sampling Bollywood. Lata Mangeshkar’s voice was officially cleared for use on a non-Bollywood release, a milestone reported by multiple outlets. It’s history. It’s memory. And it’s a bridge.
