Priyanka to announce her next Bollywood projects soon

India's international star, Priyanka Chopra, has not been seen in any Bollywood film since Jai Gangaajal, which released in the beginning of 2016. Recently, there were reports that she was cast for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gustakhiyan, but the actress walked out of the film.

Her name was also being tossed around for Rakesh Sharma's biopic titled Salute. The actress was supposed to play Aamir Khan's wife in the movie. However, when Priyanka was asked about the film with Khan and her other Bollywood projects, she said that Mr Perfectionist is no more a part of the project.

"I have finalised two-three scripts. Now, I am left to make announcements. Rakesh Sharma biopic was one of those scripts. I was approached for that film when Aamir was doing it... He is not in the film now. We were supposed to do it in 2019. Now, I don't know," the actress said on the sidelines of Zee Cine Awards.

Some reports claim that superstar Shah Rukh Khan has replaced Aamir Khan in the Rakesh Sharma biopic. When PC was asked about the same, she said, "I don't know. I haven't got any confirmations. I haven't spoken to Sid (Siddharth Roy Kapur) or Mahesh sir. As soon as I know, I will see."

Priyanka Chopra is currently looking forward to the release of her Hollywood film, Isn't It Romantic.

TroyBoi returns to his Indian roots with Rootz EP using Lata Mangeshkar’s voice to redefine British diaspora music

Highlights:

  • TroyBoi’s five-track EP Rootz is a personal return to the sounds of his childhood, released via Ultra Records in September 2025.
  • The single Kabhi uses an officially cleared sample of Lata Mangeshkar’s vocal from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
  • Collaborations with Amrit Maan, Jazzy B and BombayMami plug Punjabi, Bhangra and south-Asian textures directly into modern trap and bass production.
  • This EP is part of a wider wave: British artists born into diasporas are using heritage not as garnish but as foundation.

Some albums hit you in ways you don’t see coming. Rootz is one of them. Not just another trap EP. TroyBoi, the London-born producer known for global bass and trap, has made something that’s also deeply personal. He didn’t just want to make music that bangs in clubs; instead, he wanted to reach back to the India of his childhood. And he did it with Rootz.

The track everyone’s talking about is Kabhi. Because it’s not just sampling Bollywood. Lata Mangeshkar’s voice was officially cleared for use on a non-Bollywood release, a milestone reported by multiple outlets. It’s history. It’s memory. And it’s a bridge.
