Pooja Hegde to romance Akshay Kumar in Sooryavanshi?

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty surprised cinephiles by showing some glimpses of his next film Sooryavanshi, featuring Akshay Kumar, in his recently released movie, Simmba (2018). The film stars Kumar in the role of an ATS officer.

The latest development on the project is that after finalizing Akshay Kumar to play the male lead in it, director Rohit Shetty has now locked the female lead as well. According to reports, Mohenjo-Daro (2016) actress Pooja Hegde has bagged the lead part in Sooryavanshi.

"There is hardly any space for a heroine. That is how most of Rohit’s films are designed except a few. The cop dramas have always had minute roles for all the actresses and it’s a similar case for Sooryavanshi as well," a source reveals.

The source goes on to add, "Pooja Hegde will be seen opposite Akshay. He has been instrumental in telling Rohit to consider her for the part. Akshay and Pooja are paired opposite each other in one of the portions in Housefull 4.

Sooryavanshi will reportedly mount the shooting floor in April. Before starting work on the cop drama, Akshay Kumar will wrap up his ongoing films Mission Mangal and Good News. The superstar will shortly be seen in Kesari, a period drama produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
