After directing a couple of Bengali movies, when filmmaker Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury made his debut in Hindi films with his rivetingly thought-provoking film Pink, even he had not thought that his courtroom drama film would garner such an amazing response upon its release.
After the success of his debut film with Taapsee Pannu, Kriti Kulhari and Amitabh Bachchan in prominent roles, Aniruddha became a director to look out for. People thought he would announce his film soon, but that did not happen for the longest time.
Months ago, reports were doing the rounds about him working on another woman-centric film for which he wanted to rope in India’s international star Priyanka Chopra. But now it seems that the filmmaker had put that project on the backburner long ago and was, in fact, busy writing a suspense thriller film.
Yes, in all likelihood, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury will direct a suspense thriller next. Some industry insiders say that the director is in talks with Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan for playing the male lead in the film.
Saif Ali Khan has starred in many suspense thriller films in the past, the most notable being Race and Race 2. We hope he will do full justice to Aniruddha’s film. Meanwhile, he is currently promoting his next film Chef scheduled to arrive in cinemas on 6th December. Besides Chef, he also has in hands films like Baazaar and Kaalakaandi.
