Nia Sharma on possibility of a crossover to Bollywood

Nia Sharma is not the one who minces her words. She has always been known for being straightforward and calling a spade a spade. From playing traditional roles on television to sliding into the skin of some bold characters on the web-space, the actress has done it all without any reservation or hesitation.

Nia is currently in news for her forthcoming show Naagin 4. Produced by Ekta Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Telefilms, Naagin 4 is the fourth instalment of the successful supernatural revenge drama Naagin. Besides her, the show also features Jasmin Bhasin as the parallel lead.


Naagin 4 is scheduled to hit the small screen on 14th December, 2019. Ahead of the grand launch of the series, Nia Sharma is busy interaction with media. In one of her recent interviews, when the actress was asked if she would like to enter Bollywood in future, she responded in affirmation.

“Yes, why not? But no one should come and tell me that ‘Oh, you are from TV’. As cliché it may sound, no one is paying for my lifestyle or EMI or house, TV is,” said the talented actress.

Nia went on to add that she would not mind auditioning for a role if need be. “If someday someone feels that I am at a position to bag a certain role, I will audition for it. But, don’t come and tell me, ‘You are from TV. Your acting is television-oriented’. Move past that please,” said she.

The actress also added, “Are they saying that someone who just lost a certain pound and is from an influential family is ready for your movie and we aren’t?”

Well, Nia Sharma has always given her hundred percent to every character that she has played in her career so far. Hence, we would like to see her sizzle the silver screen too.

The theatre was packed for the Third Shanghai–London Screen Industry Forum. Between panels and workshops, filmmakers, producers and executives discussed ideas and business cards and it felt more than just a summit. British-Asian filmmakers were meeting and greeting the Chinese industry in an attempt to explore genuine possibilities of working in China’s film market.
