Neeraj Pandey's Aiyaary postponed to 16th February

The forthcoming action thriller film Aiyaary, which was earlier slated to release on 9th February, has been postponed by one week. Directed by noted Hindi filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, the film will now hit screens on 16th February.

Aiyaary features popular Bollywood star Sidharth Malhotra in the lead role. Seasoned actor Manoj Bajpayee will be seen as his guru in the film, while Yaariyan fame Rakul Preet Singh plays Malhotra's love interest.

Though no official announcement has been made by the makers stating the reason behind changing the release date of the film at the last moment, industry circuit is buzzing with whispers that the decision has been taken to avoid a box office clash with superstar Akshay Kumar's forthcoming film Pad Man which also hits the silver screen on 9th February.

Though Aiyaary has saved itself from a big clash with Pad Man, it will have to lock horns with two other films - 3 Storeys and Dil Juunglee - which release on 16th February. It will be really exciting to see who wins the box office race.

7 Bruce Willis thrillers ranked by Rotten Tomatoes score that aren’t 'Die Hard'

Highlights

  • Bruce Willis has several critically acclaimed thrillers beyond the Die Hard franchise
  • Looper currently holds the highest Rotten Tomatoes score among these picks at 93%
  • 12 Monkeys and The Sixth Sense also rank among his strongest-reviewed films
  • The list spans sci-fi thrillers, supernatural mysteries, neo-noir and action films

Bruce Willis will always be associated with John McClane, but Die Hard is hardly the only place where the actor made his mark on the thriller genre.

Across the 1990s and 2000s, Willis moved between time-travel mysteries, supernatural dramas, neo-noirs and action thrillers, often using the same understated intensity that made him such a recognisable screen presence. Rotten Tomatoes scores show that some of his most highly regarded work came when he stepped away from the role of the conventional action hero.
