Modi: India to ratify Paris climate pact

INDIA, the world’s third-largest emitter of greenhouse gases, will formally join the Paris agreement on climate change on October 2, prime minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday (September 25). The ratification by India, which follows that of the United States and China, the world’s biggest greenhouse gas emitters, will help accelerate the enactment of the landmark Paris agreement on climate change forged last December. “Now the time has come to ratify the COP21 protocol.
