Masakali 2.0: Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria try their best to impress, but we miss Sonam Kapoor

Milap Zaveri’s Marjaavaan starring Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh, Tara Sutaria and Rakul Preet Singh released last year in November. The film did quite well at the box office and the songs of the movie were chartbusters.

But well, there were two songs that were supposed to be a part of the movie but couldn’t make it to the final cut. The first one was Peeyu Datt Ke which featured Sidharth Malhotra and Nushrat Bharucha. The song was released on YouTube a few months ago. And now, the second song titled Masakali 2.0 has been released as a single.

Sidharth took to Twitter to share the song with his fans. He tweeted, “Seal it with love and your Masakali indoors! #Masakali2 out now https://bit.ly/Masakali2 @TSeries @itsBhushanKumar @arrahman @TulsikumarTK @tanishkbagchi @sachet_tandon @TaraSutaria @prasoonjoshi_ #MohitChauhan.”

Masakali 2.0 features Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria. It is a recreated version of the song Masakali from the film Delhi 6. The original song was composed by AR Rahman and it has been recreated by Tanishk Bagchi. Well, this recreated version fails to impress.

Sidharth and Tara have tried their best to make the song look beautiful, but we miss Sonam Kapoor and her thumkas that we got to see in the original track.

Talking about Sidharth and Tara’s films, the former will next be seen on the big screen in Shershaah which is slated to release on 3rd July 2020. The film is a biopic on Captain Vikram Batra and also stars Kiara Advani. Meanwhile, Tara’s next release will be the remake of RX100 which will mark the debut of Suniel Shetty’s son Ahan Shetty.

What Britain’s ban on strangulation porn really means and why campaigners say it could backfire

Highlights:

  • Government to criminalise porn that shows strangulation or suffocation during sex.
  • Part of wider plan to fight violence against women and online harm.
  • Tech firms will be forced to block such content or face heavy Ofcom fines.
  • Experts say the ban responds to medical evidence and years of campaigning.

You see it everywhere now. In mainstream pornography, a man’s hands around a woman’s neck. It has become so common that for many, especially the young, it just seems like part of sex, a normal step. The UK government has decided it should not be, and soon, it will be a crime.

The plan is to make possessing or distributing pornographic material that shows sexual strangulation, often called ‘choking’, illegal. This is a specific amendment to the Crime and Policing Bill. Ministers are acting on the back of a stark, independent review. That report found this kind of violence is not just available online, but it is rampant. It has quietly, steadily, become normalised.
