Kunal Kemmu gets a handwritten note from Amitabh Bachchan for his movie Lootcase

Kunal Kemmu starrer Lootcase started streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on 31st July 2020. The movie has received a mixed response from critics and audiences, but well, megastar Amitabh Bachchan is super impressed with the film and has loved Kunal’s performance in it.

Big B has sent a handwritten note to Kunal in which he has praised the actor by calling him exceptional. Kunal posted a picture of the note on Instagram and captioned it as, “Whaaaaaaatt!!!! This is just the most awesome awesome thing ever. I have often read or heard about this happening and always wished that one day I would also be deserving of one myself.. thank you soooo much @amitabhbachchan Sir❤️❤️❤️??? This means so much to me. I’m doing back flips in my head and my heart ??? #Lootcase.”

We must say that this is surely a big achievement for Kunal.

Lootcase was earlier slated to hit the big screens in 2019. But it was postponed and then later the makers decided to release it on OTT platform, Disney+ Hotstar.

Before the release, the movie was in the news because when Disney+ Hotstar had announced its line-up through an Instagram live chat, they had not invited the star cast of Lootcase and Khuda Haafiz. The actors who were a part of the Insta live were Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt, and Varun Dhawan (as host).

At that time, Kunal had tweeted, "Izzat aur pyaar maanga nahi kamaya jaata hai. Koi na de toh usse hum chhote nahi hote. Bas maidaan khelne ke liye barabar de do chhalaang hum bhi oonchi laga sakte hai."

Yash says Ravana in Ramayana must connect with Western viewers as film eyes global audience

Highlights

  • Yash says he humanised Ravana to help global audiences relate to the character.
  • Asura designs in the first glimpse drew criticism for looking too Western-inspired.
  • Producer Namit Malhotra compares the film's tone to Lord of the Rings and Gladiator.
Yash, who plays the demon king Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, says his portrayal was shaped by one clear goal: making the character relatable beyond Indian audiences.
Speaking at CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week, where the film was presented alongside major Hollywood releases, the actor said he worked to strip away the purely mythological reading of the role.

"I have tried to internalise the whole essence of Ravana and tried to make him as human as possible at times," Yash told Reuters.

"It is important for people to relate to him, and since we have global ambitions, we need to make it familiar to a Western audience as well."
