Karan Johar to make an announcement tomorrow, is it about Dostana 2?

Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, and Priyanka Chopra starrer Dostana was one of the first films starring mainstream actors that spoke about homosexuality. Though the film had gay characters that were stereotypical and were just there to make the audience laugh, we cannot ignore the fact that it was the movie that made the word ‘gay’ quite famous among the common man in India.

After the release of Dostana, there have been a lot of reports about the sequel to the film, but the makers have not yet made any official announcement. However, looks like soon we would be hearing an announcement about the film. Today producer Karan Johar posted on Twitter that tomorrow they will be making an announcement and it clearly looks like he is talking about Dostana 2. He has shared a video for it which at the end states, “It is what you think it is!” Also, the visuals hint at Dostana 2 and the music in it has the Maa Da Ladla touch as well.


A few days ago, there were reports that Rajkummar Rao will be seen playing one of the male leads in the film and the actor opposite him is yet to be finalised. Reportedly, while in Dostana, two straight guys pretended to be gays, in Dostana 2, two gay guys will pretend to be straight. Well, if this is the concept, it sounds interesting.

However, we are now keen to know which actors Karan Johar has roped in for the movie and who will be directing the film. Well, we won’t mind watching Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham romancing on the big screen once again.

Dostana was directed by Tarun Mansukhani, but the filmmaker is still busy with his next Drive which is also produced by Karan Johar. The movie also starred Kirron Kher, Boman Irani and Bobby Deol in the pivotal roles and how can we forget Shilpa Shetty’s sizzling dance number Shut Up And Bounce.

Prashasti Singh started her stand-up terrified of speaking in public. “I was very conscious of my language, my pronunciation, my accent. I thought stand-up wouldn’t be my thing,” she says. But her first open mic changed that. “It felt like I was among a bunch of sisters, a bunch of friends. I just forgot all my nervousness. It came out very naturally.”
