Kangana Ranaut’s Mental Hai Kya locks February 22, 2019 for release

Magnetic star Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film Mental Hai Kya, which also stars National award-winning actor Rajkummar Rao in lead role, has booked February 22, 2019, for its worldwide theatrical release.

Ranaut and Rao, who are reteaming after their highly acclaimed coming-of-age film Queen (2014), announced the release date of the Ekta Kapoor produced movie in a funny video which has gone viral on social media.


Speaking about the movie, producer Ekta said in a press statement, “In a day and age where sanity is overrated, the film is a celebration of the crazy within us all! With Kangana and Rajkummar toplining this film, we’re set to ask audiences -Mental Hai Kya, in theatres on 22nd Feb.”

Mental Hai Kya is being directed by renowned Telugu filmmaker Prakash Kovelamudi from a screenplay written by Kanika Dhillon. Dhillon’s other credits include Ra. One and the upcoming film Manmarziya, directed by Anurag Kashyap.

The film is being jointly produced by Karma Media and Entertainment and Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures.

Before the release of Mental Hai Kya, Kangana will be seen in Krish’s period drama Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi. The makers are yet to fix a release date for the film, though.
