Judgementall Hai Kya movie review: A perfect dose of laughter, drama and thrills

Nowadays, a film's hero is not the lead actor or the lead actress, it is the writer. If the content is good and presented in a good way, then the movie will attract the audiences. Judgementall Hai Kya has big names like Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao attached with it and they have performed well (I will talk about it later in detail), but this film belongs to writer Kanika Dhillon and director Prakash Kovelamudi.

Judgementall Hai Kya is about Bobby (Kangana Ranaut) who is weird in her behavior, in slang you would call her Mental. Keshav (Rajkummar Rao) and Rima (Amyra Dastur) start living as Bobby's tenants. Well, Bobby feels there's something wrong with Keshav and he will kill his wife. As expected, Rima dies. While Keshav says it was an accident, Bobby feels it was a murder. The film moves forward with a lot of unexpected twists and turns, and a climax that has been narrated wonderfully.

Kanika Kapoor has written the story, screenplay, and dialogues and she has done a fantastic job. The first half is filled with many laugh out loud sequences and the interval portion leaves us with a question. While the first half is hilarious, the second half takes a turn towards the drama and thrills. After the interval, maybe you would feel that a few things are a bit predictable, but director Prakash Kovelamudi has narrated the film very well to keep you engaged throughout. The climax is clearly the best part of the film and here I would also like to mention cinematographer Pankaj Kumar for his amazing camera work.

Now let's talk about performances. If you thought that Kangana Ranaut's career's best performance was in her last release Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, wait till you watch Judgementall Hai Kya. With every film, Kangana goes a notch higher making us wonder what she will do next. She is simply amazing in Judgementall Hai Kya. Rajkummar Rao is good throughout the film but gets a chance to shine in the climax. The movie has some really good supporting cast; Hussain Dalal is excellent in the film and he has been given the best dialogues. Watch out for the quotes on the t-shirts that he wears in the movie. Amrita Puri and Amyra Dastur are quite good and leave a mark. It feels so good to see Jimmy Sheirgill in a nice film after a long time. By the way, Kanika Dhillon, the writer of the film, has an extended cameo (Sita) in the movie and she impresses us with her act.

Judgementall Hai Kya could have been better in one department and that is music. The Wakhra Swag song that comes in the end credits of the film is the only track that will stay with you once you leave the theatre.

Overall, Judgementall Hai Kya is an entertaining film with the perfect dose of laughter, drama, and thrills. And yes, next time when you think that a person is Mental, be careful he/she might turn out to be smarter than you...

Suchitra Krishnamoorthi apologises after calling Ahmedabad plane crash survivor a ‘liar’

Actor and singer Suchitra Krishnamoorthi has issued a public apology after facing strong criticism on social media for questioning the survival story of Vishwas Kumar Ramesh, the sole survivor of the recent Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad.

Deleted post sparks backlash

The controversy began when Krishnamoorthi, known for her role in Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, shared a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter) alleging that Vishwas Kumar Ramesh had fabricated his account of surviving the 12 June crash. In her post, she wrote:
“So this #vishwaskumarramesh lied about being a passenger on the plane & the only survivor? This is seriously weird. Didn't his family in the UK corroborate his story? What about his brother's funeral that he was seen giving kandha to? Deserve not only some serious punishment but some mental asylum time if this is true uff.”

Regulator warns Air India over delayed emergency equipment checks: Report

INDIA’s aviation regulator has warned Air India for violating safety rules after three of its Airbus aircraft operated flights without undergoing mandatory checks on emergency escape slides, according to official documents reviewed by Reuters.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued warning notices and a detailed investigation report highlighting the breach. These documents were sent days before the recent crash of an Air India Boeing 787-8, in which all but one of the 242 people onboard were killed. The Airbus incidents are unrelated to that crash.
