Helly Shah signs Star Plus’ Sufiyana Ishq

Indian television actress Helly Shah, best remembered for such super successful shows as Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi, Swaragini: Jodein Rishton Ke Sur and Devanshi, is set to headline yet another daily soap.

Shah, who was away from the arc-light for some time now, will next star in the forthcoming show, titled Sufiyana Ishq. To be produced by Prateek Sharma under his production house LSD Films, the show will go on air on Star Plus.

Confirming the development, the actress said, “I’m happy to be a part of Sufiyana Ishq as the makers are giving me an opportunity to play a great and extremely challenging role. I wanted to wait for the correct time to return on screen. I was in no hurry as I needed a break to enjoy my life.”

She went on to add, “Even after my show Devanshi went off air, I was flooded with offers but I was not keen on playing similar characters… I always look for something new, fresh and challenging.”

Actress Vishavpreet Kaur, who was recently seen in Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyan (2018), has also come onboard to play an important part. There is no update on who is playing the male lead though.
