Forbes’ rich list names Akshay Kumar as the highest-paid Indian actor

Akshay Kumar, one of the most successful actors in the Hindi film industry, has emerged as the highest paid Indian actor in the Forbes 2019 rich list. Kumar, who is about to clock three decades in the Indian entertainment industry, has beaten the likes of Rihanna and Jackie Chan to occupy a strong position in the list.

The actor, who was most recently seen in Dharma Productions’ war drama Kesari (2019), was the only Indian actor to make it to the list. With earnings of $65 million, Kumar occupied the 33rd place in the list. Robert Downey Jr. known for essaying the character of Iron Man from the Avengers franchise was slightly ahead of him with $1 million more.

Taylor Swift topped the list with earnings of a whopping $185 million, followed by Kylie Jenner with $170 million. Kanye West, Lionel Messi and Ed Sheeran took the subsequent positions. Akshay Kumar’s fans are rejoining after knowing that their favourite star is the only actor from India to find a place in Forbes 2019 rich list.

Kumar, meanwhile, is busy shooting for his forthcoming film Sooryavanshi. Directed by hit filmmaker Rohit Shetty, Sooryavanshi reunites the actor with Katrina Kaif after a massive gap of 9 years. They last worked together on Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan.

He will soon be seen in much-awaited space odyssey film Mission Mangal which is set to release on 15th August. His next release will be Dharma Productions’ Good News. He also headlines the Kanchana (2011) remake titled Laxmmi Bomb, co-starring Kiara Advani.

Highlights:

  • Prashasti’s comedy comes from real-life stories, not just punchlines.
  • The show explores modern women chasing success but still feeling unfulfilled.
  • She quit a secure corporate job and jumped into comedy.
  • Stand-up made her stop being scared of talking to people.
  • People laugh together at the same everyday problems.

Prashasti Singh started her stand-up terrified of speaking in public. “I was very conscious of my language, my pronunciation, my accent. I thought stand-up wouldn’t be my thing,” she says. But her first open mic changed that. “It felt like I was among a bunch of sisters, a bunch of friends. I just forgot all my nervousness. It came out very naturally.”
