Exclusive! Shagun Pandey on Meet: You will watch the show with a smile on your face

Shagun Pandey, who has been a part of TV shows like Tujhse Hai Raabta, Shubharambh, Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye, and others, will next be seen in a show titled Meet.

We recently interacted with Shagun and the actor spoke to us about the show. He said, “I still can’t believe I have become a hero. The response to the promos has been positive. It’s a Shashi Sumit show (one of the biggest producers in the Indian television industry), brilliantly written, and it talks about why only guys take the responsibility of the house when females are doing much better than them.”

Further talking about his character, Shagun said, “All the characters that I have played till now they were emotionally intense, but this character is a happy-go-lucky guy, and he gets a lot of love from his family. When you will see his family, you will get a good vibe, and you will watch the show with a smile on your face.”

“He is a charming guy who is always happy, he comes from a very well-to-do family, but like his father he wants to start from zero and then become the president of a company. In this process, he meets Meet. Their paths are totally different, and she thinks differently. So, we are trying to show the audience a story with a message in a light-hearted entertaining way,” the actor added.

Meet starts airing on Zee TV from Monday (23).

  • Kapil Sharma asked if the film costs around £126 million (₹1,300 crore)
  • Priyanka nodded at the figure, but avoided giving a formal confirmation
  • Rajamouli’s film stars Mahesh Babu, with plans for a global theatrical release in 2027
  • Varanasi is reported as the most expensive Tollywood film to date

Priyanka Chopra spoke about SS Rajamouli’s new film Varanasi on the opening episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 4. Kapil Sharma pressed her on rumours that the production budget has touched £126 million (₹1,300 crore). Priyanka did not confirm it outright. She nodded at Kapil’s line of thought, which was enough for the live audience. SS Rajamouli is working with Mahesh Babu on a large-scale action project. Priyanka plays the female lead.

Kapil pushed the cost question further, saying Priyanka’s involvement has raised the scale of Varanasi. He joked that her fee might be swallowing half the numbers. Priyanka replied: “Are you trying to imply that half of the budget has gone into my bank account?” Navjot Singh Sidhu joined in by asking what kind of story needs a spend this large. Priyanka avoided all story points. She reminded Kapil that Rajamouli never reveals plot details.
