EXCLUSIVE: Massive gulf in class between India and Pakistan, says Monty Panesar

The India vs Pakistan match and the whole World Cup in general has proved that there is a big difference between the two sides.

I think Pakistan don't believe in their batting line up to post a huge total. Sarfraz Ahmed completely got the decision wrong to field first. This also allowed the Indian spinners to come into the game second half.

Pakistan bowling always seems to be strong but their batting is let down especially the likes of Shoaib Malik. He just doesn't seem to not wanting the responsibility of batting up the order. He is the most experienced player in the team and he should be batting at least number 4 not at number 7.

Gulf in class

Pakistan's development is being hindered by not playing in the big leagues around the world. I think Pakistan cricket is being affected by not playing cricket in Pakistan.

You can see the difference in talent, India are just too strong for Pakistan. Even though over one billion people turned into match. This World Cup clash was a disappointing result because the gulf between the two teams is large now. Pakistan need to play consistently well or the biggest rivalry in sport will just lose its appeal.

India will qualify for the semi finals and Pakistan need to win every game which possible. Pakistan need to believe they can qualify and win all the remaining games like when they beat England they looked like a strong team.

Pakistan have talented players but they just don't seem to make the right decisions during pressurised situations. Against Australia when conditions suited Pakistan, they should have bowled Australia out for under 250, then they would have won the game.

India and Pakistan set for Asia Cup clash after May conflict

AN INDIA-PAKISTAN cricket match always draws attention, and emotions are set to run high when the two teams meet on Sunday in the Asia Cup. The contest comes months after the neighbours engaged in a four-day military conflict in May.

Bilateral cricket ties between the two countries have been suspended for years, and the arch-rivals now face each other only in multi-nation tournaments. The upcoming Group A fixture will be their first meeting since the May clashes, which nearly escalated into a full-scale war.
