Confirmed: Sonu Sood is the main baddie in Simmba

After casting Ranveer Singh and newcomer Sara Ali Khan in principal roles, filmmakers Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty have now finalized extremely talented Sonu Sood to play the main villain in their forthcoming joint venture, Simmba. To be helmed by Rohit Shetty, the film is the Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster, Temper.

Sood says that he has always been a big Rohit Shetty fan and is extremely happy to be a part of his next Bollywood offering. He also adds that the character that he plays in Simmba is going to be the most-talked-about one this year.

“I am a huge Rohit Shetty fan. When actors come to the industry, they want to do certain kind of roles. He makes them look like characters who inspire people from smaller towns to become actors. I am really looking forward to this collaboration. We are still working on my look. Rohit and I will make sure that it is one of the most talked about screen avatars of the year.”

For the uninitiated, the role which Sonu Sood is going to play in Simmba was earlier offered to Abhishek Bachchan and R. Madhavan. While Junior Bachchan declined the offer due to reasons best known to him, Madhavan could not play it owing to his bad health.

With the main cast locked, Simmba will now mount the floor next month. The film is scheduled to release on 27th December 2018.
