Plunging TRP has finally forced Colors TV to end one of its longest running shows, "Sasural Simar Ka." Though no official announcement has been made as yet, sources reveal that the show is all set to end in few weeks.The show began its journey in 2011 and instantly caught the attention of the audience. The story of two sisters, who go on to marry in the same family, found a lot many viewers initially, but its TRPs dipped drastically when one of the female protagonists, Avika Guar, decided to quit the show.

After Avika's exit, the makers somehow managed to bring the show back on the track, but in order to gain more audience, they introduced some absurd twists and turns, including some supernatural ones and received a lot of flak. Soon, the audience started steering clear away from the show and the TRP hit the rock-bottom. And now the news is coming in that the makers have finally decided to bid adieu to the show.

A member of the unit says, "We have not yet been informed of any such news. We are still shooting with the whole unit. If the show is going off-air, then it's really sad."
