Brahmastra sets Christmas 2019 release

The first part of Dharma Productions’ much-awaited trilogy Brahmastra, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles, has fixed Christmas 2019 for its theatrical release. Earlier, the fantasy adventure flick was set to hit screens on 15th August 2019.

While the first part of the trilogy rolls into cinemas in 2019, the second and third parts are expected to release in subsequent years.


Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is bankrolling the mega-budgeted movie under Dharma Productions, on Tuesday, tweeted a poster which read: “Brahmastra now releasing on Christmas 2019."

Brahmastra is written and directed by Ayan Mukerji who has previously helmed Wake Up Sid (2009) and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani (2013), both starring Ranbir Kapoor as the male protagonist.

Besides Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, the movie also stars Mouni Roy, Dimple Kapadia and Nagarjuna in important roles.

So don’t forget to catch the movie in theatres on Christmas 2019.

Actor Sweta Keswani has said Priyanka Chopra’s Hollywood rise has been remarkable but not community-driven. In an interview with India Today, the Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki star said Priyanka is “only helping herself” and drew a sharp contrast with The Office creator Mindy Kaling, calling Mindy the one “actually writing, producing, and helping south Asians.”
