Bollywood stars who have gained stardom in Hollywood

PRIYANKA CHOPRA decided to pursue a career in Hollywood when she was at the peak of her career in Bollywood. That decision did not backfire, and today, she is cited as one of the most successful cases of a Bollywood actor making it big in Hollywood.

However, Priyanka is not the only one who has managed to capture the attention of international film audience. Here are four other Bollywood actors who have successfully set up careers in Hollywood.


Irrfan Khan: He is one of the most versatile actors in India and he has been part of numerous Hollywood films such as Life of Pi, The Namesake, New York, I Love You, A Mighty Heart and Slumdog Millionaire among others.

Deepika Padukone: The Padmaavat actress forayed into Hollywood with Vin Diesel's XXX: The Return of Xander Cage. Reportedly, she will be seen in the sequel of XXX: The Return of Xander Cage as well.

Om Puri: The actor's filmography abroad includes City of Joy opposite Patrick Swayze; Wolf with Jack Nicholson; and The Ghost and the Darkness opposite Val Kilmer among others. In 2017, the Oscars remembered the actor for his contribution towards the Hollywood movies.

Anil Kapoor: Anil Kapoor became a global sensation with Slumdog Millionaire and he has displayed his talents in movies such as Mission Impossible 4 and television series 24.

A song inspired by displacement and resilience

Days before the release of Main Vaapas Aaunga, the film's makers have revealed a special version of Kya Kamaal Hai that shifts the focus beyond the story on screen to a global humanitarian issue.

Featuring lead actor Diljit Dosanjh, the video is dedicated to refugees around the world who have been forced to leave their homes because of conflict, violence and persecution. The song will play during the end credits of the film when it arrives in cinemas on Friday.
