Amidst the lockdown, the film industry is surely facing huge trouble. There are many films that were slated to release in the first half of this year, but the shooting as well as the release date, schedules have gone for a toss.

We have been hearing that filmmakers are planning to release their films on OTT platforms as even if the lockdown is lifted, it is surely not possible that the theatres will re-open soon. So, today, let’s look at the list of films that might get a release directly on an OTT platform.

Laxmmi Bomb

A couple of weeks ago, there were reports that the makers of Laxmmi Bomb are planning to release the film on an OTT platform, and recently once again we got to hear the same news. Starring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani in the lead roles, Laxmmi Bomb might release on Disney+Hotstar in June.

Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai

The shooting of Salman Khan and Disha Patani starrer Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai is still left. But Salman’s manager had confirmed to an entertainment portal that they are thinking of having a digital release. So, we won’t be surprised if, Bhai completes the shoot after the lockdown and decides that Radhe will mark his digital debut.

Gulabo Sitabo

Shoojit Sircar’s Gulabo Sitabo starring Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana was slated to release in April this year. Well, a few days ago, Sircar had stated that if the lockdown gets extended after 3rd May, he will make a decision about releasing the film digitally. So, it looks like Gulabo Sitabo will mostly get a release on an OTT platform.

Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar

YRF’s Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar has been pushed multiple times. It was finally going to release on 20th March 2020, however, due to the coronavirus outbreak, the film was once again postponed. Earlier, also we have heard that the movie might release digitally, and looking at the current scenario, we won’t be surprised if that happens.

Dil Bechara

Just like Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, the release date of Dil Bechara has also been pushed multiple times. Last year, there were also reports of the film getting a digital release, but the makers had rubbished the reports. It was announced that will hit the screens on 8th May 2020. However, releasing it on an OTT platform would be clearly the best option for the makers now.

You arrive in Kochi, and it feels like the sea air makes everything slightly sharper; faces in the city look purposeful, a film poster peels at the corner of a wall. In a city that has cradled a thriving film industry for decades, a single crime on the night of 17 February 2017 ruptured the ordinary: an abduction, a recorded sexual assault and a survivor who reported it the next day. What happened next is every woman’s unspoken nightmare, weaponised into brutal reality. It was a public unpeeling of an industry’s power structures, a slow-motion fight over evidence and testimony, and a national debate about how institutions protect (or fail) women.

For over eight years, her fight for justice became a mirror held up to an entire industry and a society. It was a journey from the dark confines of that car to the glaring lights of a courtroom, from being a silenced victim to becoming a defiant survivor whose voice sparked a revolution. This is not just the story of a crime. It is the story of what happens when one woman says, "Enough," and the tremors that follow.
