Ayushmann Khurrana ecstatic as Bala becomes his 3rd ₹ 100 crore film

Ayushmann Khurrana continues his winning streak as he delivers his 7th consecutive hit at the domestic box-office. His latest film Bala, which entered theatres on 8th November, has joined the much-sought-after club of ₹ 100 crore domestically. Directed by Amar Kaushik, Bala has become Khurrana’s third ₹ 100 crore film after Badhaai Ho (2018) and Dream Girl (2019).

Expressing his happiness over the new feat his new film has achieved at the box-office, Ayushmann Khurrana says, “Every artiste wants their film to reach the maximum number of people, entertain them and leave them with a thought or a message to take home. I have been fortunate enough to find such brilliant scripts at the first place and backed them whole-heartedly.”

By delivering back-to-back hits over the past three years, Khurrana has become one of the most bankable stars in Bollywood. The rising star says that he is happy to contribute towards the growth of the industry with the success of his films. “While I have always believed in the concept of art for art sake, I do realise that for an industry to thrive and grow, it is necessary that the films do really well. So, more than my personal milestones of 100 crore hits, I’m happy that I could contribute towards the growth of my industry as well as present some really good films to audiences in the process,” he adds.

Bala is a special film for the National Film Award winning actor not because it has raked in a lot of money, but because of its message. “Bala is a special film with important messages for the people of my country and so it is really spectacular to see the love that audiences have showered on the film and me. I am thrilled with the appreciation that the film has earned because I take a lot of time to hunt and curate the scripts that I feel is the best to convert into theatrical movies,” says Khurrana.

Crediting the entire team of Bala for the massive success of the film, Ayushmann says, “I share this special moment with the entire team of Bala especially my brilliant director Amar Kaushik, my producer Dinesh Vijan and my two leading ladies Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam and the entire team for working so hard in making Bala a gem of a film.”
