Anushka Sharma in talks to star in Shree Narayan Singh's Jasmine

Yesterday, we reported that after Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Arjun Kapoor and Prernaa Arora of KriArj Entertainment are teaming up with filmmaker Shree Narayan Singh again for another social issue-driven film, titled Jasmine: Story Of A Leased Womb. However, as opposed to Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Shree will not helm this project. He will just co-produce it.

The woman-centric film revolves around a surrogate mother and her love for her child. The latest update on the project is that the makers are quite keen to rope in versatile actress Anushka Sharma in the lead role. Shree Narayan Singh feels that Anushka is a strong performer and can do full justice to the role.

According to a source, “Anushka is Shree’s first choice. He will soon meet her and give her a narration.”

Talking about the film, Shree said, “Jasmine is the journey of a girl to motherhood, of eternal love between a mother and a child. I have always wanted to work on a women centric film and I’m able to do so."

Reportedly, the film will be shot in Rajasthan and Gujarat. The makers are planning to roll the film by early next year.
