Alaya F on comparisons with Sara Ali Khan: I really don’t mind comparisons

There were reports that Sara Ali Khan was supposed to star in Jawaani Jaaneman which stars Saif Ali Khan in the lead role. The actor himself confirmed in an interview recently that Sara was approached for the movie. However, later Sara was replaced by Alaya F.

When we recently met Alaya, we asked her if she has any pressure about being compared to Sara Ali Khan as moviegoers would have in mind that Sara was the first choice for Jawaani Jaaneman. To which Alaya said, “I really don’t mind comparisons and I don’t mind competition. I don’t mind any of this because you are bracketing me with the people that have already proved themselves to be very worthy of a lot of things. So, I don’t mind. I think it’s flattering and I love it. Now, I have done what I have (in the film). So, I just hope that people like me. Whatever it is, we will find out.”

When asked that as she is new, which actors and directors she would like to work with, Alaya had a long list. She said, “It’s a very long list. Okay, let’s go, directors first; Zoya Akhtar, Karan Johar Shoojit Sircar, Shakun Batra, Rohit Shetty, Anurag Kashyap, Imtiaz Ali, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, but later on as I want to be more prepared and mature.”

“Actor wise, I want to work with Varun, Kartik, Ayushmann Khurrana, Ranveer hopefully, then Alia Bhatt. Now I will start naming all the women and we will be here forever. I want to work with everyone. I want to do some good work. I want to do some different work; I want to do masala-comedies and also gritty ones. I want to do everything.”

Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Jawaani Jaaneman is slated to release on 31st Jan 2020.
